Dubai’s Audio Tonic return with the ‘Comeback’ EP by Frankey & Sandrino, featuring a remix from French born now London based rising producer Giom.
Following the success of the ‘Audio Tonic WMC Sampler’ release which saw tracks from Ian Pooley and Vincenzo, Audio Tonic deliver yet another slice of deepness abundant in depth and warm textures.
Title track ‘Comeback’ opens with a classic organ hook and tribal percussive hits before cleverly working in a warm sub bass underneath the organ to further engross the sound. Additional elements add a soulful character to the track, using a vocal snippet throughout alongside a warm stabbing synth pattern to create an intense deep house workout.
Giom strips back the original yet maintains the key features, implanting his upfront drum pattern and sharp shooting low-end hits. The warm strings from the original piece work as a pressure builder to a breaking point where warbling bass notes creep in briefly before revisiting the fresh new loopy groove with a slice of the vocal running in recurrence throughout.
No.19 Music teams up with super talented musician, songwriter, Dj & producer Derrick Boyd AKA Tone of Arc for a new single that marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the label and artist…
Tone of Arc is the new moniker from Derrick Boyd the multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, producer who has been creating such a stir after his recent performances at the No.19 Social Experiment events at BPM in Mexico and WMC in Miami and with his forthcoming remix for Visionquest. His marriage of inspiring production/songwriting and truly unique live/dj performances make him a very exciting prospect as anyone who has caught him live can testify to. Now he is set to distil all of this into an album for his friends at No.19, and as an early taster of that, we have here his debut single ‘Shaking the Sky / No Pushers’.
Rekids and Buzzin Fly artist Spencer Parker drops his second release for Apt. International this May entitled ‘There Are A Few Things In My Life’. The EP comprises of an original mix from Spencer and two re-interpreations from Toulouse born Patrice Leiris.

“An aged man is but a paltry thing, A tattered coat upon a stick, unless Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing”. This extract of the “Sailing to Byzantium” poem by William Butler Yeats describes my special guest this evening. Everybody’s Freaky Under Natures Kingdom is their motto. In short EFUNK and that’s the name of a hot masterpiece dropped this month on Wolf + Lamb. Ladies and Gentlemen I speak about Soul Clap, the Boston nice guys on their way to conquer the world, currently on a cross European PR tour. I caught them for a short chat about their musical journey. By the way this show previews another hot one on Wolf + Lamb in 2012, get Deniz Kurtel’s “The Way We Life”!
It’s always good to feature a newbie. Hatchwork a new imprint from UK is in the show as well. Representative Darren Flecta introduces his baby with Hatchwork’s ever first releases.
Last but not least this show features the prism, a small cube of smooth metal designed by Nicolas Jaar, contains twelve tracks of (mostly) unreleased material from Clown & Sunset Records artists, including new material from Jaar. The Prism offers a new approach to experiencing art and sound, bringing a renewed sense of physicality to music along with the idea of a shared musical experience. It forces its listener to consider how music is released and distributed, how it feels in your hand, how it looks in your home, and how it fosters intimacy with another.
Do you know of lucid dreaming? Wikipedia say “A lucid dream is any dream in which one is aware that one is dreaming. [..] In a lucid dream, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over their participation within the dream or be able to manipulate their imaginary experiences in the dream environment.[2] Lucid dreams can be realistic and vivid.” Now that this is clear, which music would you turn on in a lucid dream? Do you guess your choice would impact your dream?
Well, a lot of questions to describe today’s Colair.FM guest mix. But I guess these questions explain the trip you will start on turning the show on at its best. Please think of a lucid dream where Nadja Lind decides of the music to deepen your dream, to conduct your emotions, to navigate you to a destination you never dreamed of. Nadja is part of the duo Klartraum the German translation of lucid dream. Her new album “Secret Moon” is ready to conquer the market and will be dropped on her own imprint Lucidflow in May. If you like her exclusive guest mix you better don’t miss the secret moon!
just listening to Jim Rivers debut album “Airport Vultures” and feeling very excited about even more Laurent Garnier is saying about
> The whole thing is so strong, stunning quality and what’s very rare is there isn’t even one weak track on the album. It’s all super funky, musical and damn well produced. Albums like this are very rare nowadays, and I’d like to thank you for sharing it with me. Huge respect for this stunning piece of artwork, you can be sure that I will hammer it for a hell of a long time <
